History

Vector was founded in 1999 following a management buyout of the Hewlett Packard facilities management department. The managers took over the operation of all the facilities management functions for the Leixlip pen manufacturing facility.

Within the first 3 years of its existence, Vector had strengthened its core team with experts from the cleaning, security and catering industries. This enabled Vector to also offer these services to the company's growing client base.

The management further realised that compliance with Environmental and Health & Safety requirements was key to the business operation. This in turn led to the strengthening of the company's Health & Safety team and the purchase in 2002 of Ferguson Environmental, and the formation of Vector Environmental Services.

In 2003, Vector decided to implement the Spokesoft CAFM system. The success of the Helpdesk software led to Vectors purchase of Spokesoft Technologies ltd. The partnership between Vector and Spokesoft has been a fruitful one. The two businesses now believe that we have developed the best FM Help Desk system available.

Vector had now grown into one of the largest Facilities Management (“FM”) companies in the country. As a result of Vectors successes the company merged in 2004 one of their largest competitors, Irish Estates. Trading as Veris Plc, the joined companies were floated on the London and Irish Stock markets in September of 2005, with Vector Workplace & Facilities Management taking sole responsibility for all FM services.

To date, Vector is Ireland’s largest indigenous FM service provider, with over 200 staff, a turnover of over €35 million and a presence in 14 countries.
